FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHY INTRAVENOUS (IV) OR INTRAMUSCULAR (IM) VITAMINS ARE BETTER THAN ORAL?
IV drips deliver essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other mineral elements directly into the bloodstream - giving your body a much higher concentration than oral intake.
If you are taking vitamins by mouth (tablets, powder or liquid), absorption is limited due to bioavailability*, it also depends on your genetics, general health, age, metabolism and other factors. For example, taking 500 mg of vitamin C orally has a bioavailability of 63% - only 315 mg is absorbed - 241 mg is excreted in the urine.
When taken orally, the higher the dose, the lower the bioavailability, which can drop to 15%.
When administered intravenously / intramuscularly vitamins are absorbed much faster and have 100% bioavailability.
If you have a higher level of vitamins and other trace elements in your blood, then your body will get everything it needs to function better.
*pharmacokinetic term that indicates how much of the administered vitamin or chemical compound enters the bloodstream in unchanged form.
WHY DO WE NEED VITAMINS?
Vitamins are essential nutrients needed for the healthy development of your body, but the body cannot synthesize many of them, so additional supplementation is important.
